Remsen, N.Y. - Central New York welcomed its Olympic hero last night.

Remsen resident Erin Hamlin claimed the Bronze Medal in the singles luge event in Sochi, Russia. It was the first ever U.S. medal in that event.

Hamlin landed at Hancock International Airport just before 5 p.m. and made stops at Barneveld, Floyd, Holland Patent, Rome, Stittville and Verona.

Fans greeted the Olympian as she made her way through 8 degree temperatures and blistering winds.
