Teachers, administrators and parents took turns assailing the state Education Department for the way it has rolled out a new educational standards and testing program.

A forum at Baldwinsville High School moderated by five Republican Assembly members, including Will Barclay (BAR-clay) of Pulaski, was scheduled for two hours but went four. Most who spoke said New York's implementation of standards for the Common Core was rushed and the introduction of exams came before the standards were in place. While some administrators said the standards were good, most agreed that the implementation has been the problem.
