A DeWitt nurse has been indicted on felony charges after investigators say she fell asleep on the job and it later led to the death of a patient.
Tanya Lemon has been indicted by a grand jury on charges endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
She worked at the Briarwood Home in DeWitt last year when police say she fell asleep during her overnight shift and failed to administer oxygen to a 25 year on patient there.
That patient later died after his brain was robbed of vital oxygen it needed. Prosecutors claim that Lemon routinely slept on the job and also endangered six other patients under her care too.
