At least 20 residents in Manlius have been robbed over the last month as police try to track down some thieves.
Manlius Police say cars have been broken into during the night and many of the victims have left their cars unlocked.
The larcenies have occurred in an area around North Burdick Street, Taylor Road and Bowman Road.
The crimes have involved the theft of property from unlocked vehicles or buildings during the overnight hours. Many items the suspect or suspects have taken are in plain view inside the cars.
Victims have reported a wide range of items stolen including cash, gift cards, cameras, cell phones and other electronic devices.
All residents in town are being urged to lock their car doors at night, especially when they're not at home. In addition, the use of motion lights can help deter this type of crime. Police are also asking residents in town to report any suspicious activity.
