One day after his capture in western new york, a Syracuse man wanted for murder makes his first court appearance.
Eric Woody was nabbed by US Marshalls yesterday in Niagara Falls. He was found hiding in a cabinet under a kitchen sink and brought back to Syracuse, after police developed information on his whereabouts.
Police say Woody walked into Sabatino's Pizza last month to rob the place and the store owner was shot to death. There was also a 25 hundred dollars reward out there for his arrest and conviction.
Today in court, Woody was arraigned on Second Degree Murder charges. A judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, and he's being held without bail. He's also been assigned a public defender.
Woody is accused in the death of 38 year old Shqair Shqair. Police say the victim tried to reason with the gunman when he walked in the the pizza shop on October first, but Woody ended up killing him.
Shqair leaves behind a wife and five children.
