OCCRA Has Holiday Recycling Tips

OCCRA Has Holiday Recycling Tips
Posted Thursday, December 26th 2013 @ 4pm  by Jim Donovan

Now that Christmas has come and gone, you may be left with an awful lot of leftovers - as in what's left over after all the presents have been opened.

OCRRA says that you can put any non-metallic wrapping paper, cards, and gift bags into your blue bin or other paper recycling container.  Ribbons, bows, and any metallic wrapping paper or bows should go in your trash.  Batteries can be recycled, but don't go in your blue bin.  They can be dropped off at Wegmans or Green Hills Market locations.  OCRRA also says Christmas trees are picked up by most municipalities, but that OCCRA's compost facilities at both Ley Creek and Rock Cut Road facilities will take trees starting Monday.  Hours will be weekdays 9 to 4 and Saturday 9 to noon.
