ANNSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) _ Authorities say four crew members aboard a rescue boat had to be rescued themselves when their vessel overturned during a search on an Oneida County creek.
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says its helicopter was requested to assist in a search Sunday night for a person reported missing while floating on an inflated tube down Fish Creek in the Oneida County town of Annsville.
After the aircraft's infrared camera spotted the missing person, the helicopter's crew was informed that a rescue boat with four local firefighters aboard had overturned in the swift current.
The chopper crew located four rescuers in the water and directed other rescuers to their location. The rescuers later found the missing person. The missing person suffered a leg injury. No other injuries were reported.
