Auburn police arrested a couple after they tried to use their 3-year-old daughter to hide hundreds of dollars in stolen meat.

Officers say Jessica Jones of Auburn and Joseph Weir of Union Springs stole over $350 in packages of steaks from a Wegmans in Auburn and used their child to conceal the theft.  Police say the pair was arrested about a block away from the store.

Jones had already been banned by Wegmans for a theft at their Cicero store.  Because of that, she was trespassing during the meat heist and has been charged with felony burglary.  Both Jones and Weir also face charges for heroin possession, as well as endangering the welfare of a minor.  The pair are currently on parole for drug offenses.
