The Red Cross has stepped in to provide housing for three families left homeless after a fire in an Apartment on Willow Street in Syracuse.

The Red Cross say they decided to set up a shelter, since there were 9 people who needed temporary housing.  It has been a busy week for them, since two other fires in the last 48 hours left an additional 15 people without a place to live.  The Red Cross typically provides temporary housing and other necessities to those who are displaced by fires and other natural disasters.
