Today is election day - for schools, that is. Seventeen school districts in Onondaga County will ask voters to choose new school board members and approve new school year budgets.

Most districts are requesting modest budget increases and even more modest tax levies. Only North Syracuse Schools will require a "super-majority" of 60 percent approval to pass its budget. While some districts open polling as early as 6 am and others as late as 1 pm, all polls will stay open until 9 pm. Contact your local district for its start time and voting location.
