Heavy rain yesterday has delayed a new search effort in the town of Mexico to find the remains of Heidi Allen, who's been missing for 20 years.
Investigators had planned to search for Heidi in a square-mile heavily wooded area off Rice Road in Mexico Thursday, but decided to wait until Saturday to begin.
She was kidnapped from a New Haven convenience store in 1994 and never seen again. Gary Thibodeau was convicted for Heidi's kidnapping and murder and is serving a sentence of 25 years to life. Thibodeau's public defender claims he was wrongly convicted and working to win his release based on new evidence that points to another possible suspect.
