Another life lesson I should have taught my son that I learned about on our way to his college orientation.  Just because something is cheaper, doesn't mean it is a good deal.  After a long day of traveling, we saw a motel room close to the college that was super reasonable.  Only $50 a night or $55 if you wanted separate beds.  So we went for it.  We got in the room and the wall was smashed in with a big hole, the window had broken glass and the carpet was sticky.  Oh yes, and there was this real drunk guy hanging outside and there wasn't a good lock on the door.  Well, we were smooth and apologetic and just told the owner we did not feel safe and he gave us a refund.  Another life lesson, when something seems too good to be true, it probably is.  Follow your instinct.  When your gut says get out of there, get out of there.  - Becky
