CNY Romance Writers celebrates three decades as the Voice of Romance in Central New York Liverpool, NY (May 30, 2018)
Central New York Romance Writers celebrates its thirtieth year in 2018. The event coincides with the organization's June mini-conference, an annual workshop which brings in published and aspiring authors from areas around the northeastern United States.
This year, the mini-conference presenters are bestselling authors Susan Gable and Holly Jacobs. The event will be held June 2nd at Liverpool Public Library from 10:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In 1988, local romance writers had few ways to connect and share ideas. CNY resident Jane O'Connor founded the local chapter of Romance Writers of America, a writers' organization specific to the romance genre. Jane took out ads in the Pennysaver, drawing an ever-growing, diverse group of authors.
Today, CNYRW shares creative writing knowledge and contacts with more than forty authors from around New York State. "I wouldn???t have been able to publish my first book without this chapter," says Patti O'Manne, CNYRW's current president. "The support and guidance is unmatched in any of the chapters I've been to in RWA. The best tribute to the chapter would be to see it grow."
The event is free to CNYRW members. Members may bring one guest each for $20.00. Registration is open through May 12th.
Seating is limited. For more information visit CNY Romance Writers at http://www.cnyromancewriters.com.
