How to Lend a Helping Hand to Victims of North Salina Fire

If you didn’t hear, on Wednesday afternoon there was a massive fire on North Salina Street that continued on to Thursday morning.  Four nearly 100 year old buildings in Little Italy will be demolished as a result of this fire, displacing the residents of the apartments which were above the businesses on the street.  There’s no doubting this is a tragedy, and we send our love out to all of those who lost everything, but there is still some positivity coming out of this story! The Vineyard Church, who owns the community center to the left of the four condemned buildings, is asking for donations to the fire victims. If you’d like to help these families in need here’s what you got to do:

GO ONLINE:  Online donations are being collected on the Vineyard Church’s website. Be sure to include the fund code “Northside Families Affected by Fire.”

Another way to donate online is through the Catholic charities of Onondaga County, and should include “Fire Victims” in the note section.

BY MAIL: Checks can be mailed to the Vineyard church at 312 Lakeside Road, Syracuse, NY 13209. Be sure to make the check out to “Syracuse Vineyard” and include “Northside Families Affected by Fire” in the memo line.

Checks can also be mailed to the Catholic Charities of Onondaga County at 1654 West Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13204. Checks here can be made out to “Catholic Charities of Onondaga County,” with “Fire Victims” in the memo line.

I know my community, and this community loves to help to those in need. Please consider lending a helping hand to our neighbors, as I’m sure if you were in their shoes you would want the same generosity extended to you!
