CNY Native Breanna Stewart WNBA Finals MVP

She's done it again! Last night, Breanna Stewart led her team, Seattle Storm, to the championship of the WNBA Finals against the Washington Mystics. This season, Breanna's team had 26 wins during the season, 11 more than last year, and entered the playoffs at the number 1 seed.

Not only did Breanna led her team to the win, but she was also awarded league and finals MVP. Her coach, Dan Hughes, said that the honor was well deserved and he is honored to be able to coach her. At just 24, Breanna won the NCAA Championship all four years when she was at the University of Connecticut. Now with her first finals win with the Seattle Storm, as well as being named MVP, it doesn't seem that Breanna is stopping anytime soon!

It's crazy to see someone from Central New York achieve so many honors in women's basketball. Not long ago, Breanna was at Cicero-North Syracuse High School, and now she is winning championships and awards in the WNBA. Congrats Breanna!
