The Syracuse University Athletics department just announced a multi-year investment into the carrier dome. This investment includes $118 million dollars worth of improvements, mainly towards a new roof for the Dome. A worthy investment, considering Syracuse athletics draws nearly $140 million in tourist dollars to our local economy annually and supports roughly 3,200 local jobs.
On top of the roof there's gonna be millions invested towards accessibility in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and increased WiFi capabilities. Once completed it should create a better overall dome experience and should draw in even more of those precious tourist dollars.
