The health care industry is growing by leaps and bounds in New York. New York City led the growth with an increase of nearly 33%. Among upstate regions, the Finger Lakes led the way with a nearly 19% increase in employment.
Over the last decade the great state of New York has had an overall increase of 18% or 1.2 million jobs. The healthcare industry in New York contributed about $71 billion in wages in 2017. The average annual salary for a health care worker in New York State in 2017 was more than $57,000.
This is great news for all health care professionals throughout the state and those in school right now.
