Emily Moore was walking through the mall when she saw a man fall out of his chair onto the floor. His face and hands started to turn purple, and Emily recognized the track marks on his arms. Moore ran to her car, where she kept Narcan. A nasal spray that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.
Moore said she never expected to use the training she received from ACR Health, but she is glad she did because she just saved a man’s life because of it.
Kevin Donovan, overdose prevention councilor at ACR Health, said he’s trained roughly 275 people to administer Narcan and says "That's the reason why I do my job, I want the community to know every single life has value, no matter what their state is."
