Local Non Profit Needs Donations for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is coming quick. As you rush around getting your turkeys and stuffing, one local organization is asking that you stop and think about the people who won’t have a table to sit at, or a dinner to eat.

The Interreligious Food Consortium, an agency that collects food for those in need, is looking for your help with donations.

"What we are finding is, this Thanksgiving and everybody thinks of food and we are short of food this year and our reason is we had to move from our previous location," said Executive Director Michele Jordan. "We had been there for close to 20 years and we gave away a lot of our food so we could move into our new facility which is really nice, but we are short."

The IFC is an umbrella agency for more than 70 food pantries and meal sites throughout Onondaga County. It assists each of the programs with donations on food, money and program support.
