CNY Veterans, it’s Not Just About the Blankets

On Sunday, the veterans of the Masonic Care Community were recognized closely by American Legion Post 1376 (New Hartford, N.Y.). All 76 Veterans in attendance were given a blanket. Among the 76 vets who received a blanket was World War II veteran John LiCastro, who served from 1944-46 and then again from 1947-55. “This blanket is most certainly going to keep me warm every night when I watch TV,” said LiCastro.

It’s not just about those blankets though. It’s about being given the honor and respect all veterans have earned while keeping us safe. “They’re the reason why we are here, there is not much else to say,” said Tim Converse, president of Post 1376.
