SU Fraternity Sues To Be Reinstated

Theta Tau is suing to be reinstated at Syracuse University after offensive videos of an event led the school to expel the fraternity earlier this year.

SU permanently expelled the fraternity and suspended 18 members of the Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity this spring after videos leaked showing them using racist, sexist, anti-Semitic and other offensive language.

The fraternity has said the videos depicted a series of skits that were designed as a parody.

SU almost immediately suspended the fraternity when the videos surfaced. The university later announced the frat would be permanently banned from campus. After judiciary proceedings, 18 of the members were suspended for one or two years.

The lawsuits seek to overturn the administration's discipline.

SU has not yet responded to the latest lawsuit.
