This Saturday, November 10, 2018. The NYS Fairgrounds is holding their 11th annual Veterans Parade and Expo. The parade around Chevy Court will be held at noon and the Center of Progress building will be open from 9am to 2pm.
The event takes place to say thank you to all of the Veterans for their military service to this country and to show recognition to their importance in the community. The parade is a non-profit organization as well.
Parade Coordinator Diana Abdella says the parade has had so much success through the years because it's a way for the community to thank service men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us. "I think the need to say 'thank you' to our troops just is constant," she said.
New this year, the expo will honor the American Legion's 100th anniversary with a special exhibit honoring the organization’s. Rena Nessler is this year's parade Grand Marshal. She said it's an honor for her to represent the American Legion on "a State level and National level."
There will be Connected Warriors Yoga at 1pm and a special screening of "The Lost Tapes: Tet Offensive" at 1:30pm at the Expo as well.
