CNY Group Offers Resources In Light Of Recent Mass Shooting

With the revelation that the suspect in a mass shooting was a former U.S. marine who recently had a mental health review, a local non-profit for Central New York veterans is offering help to struggling service members.

Veteran's Ananda in Fulton helps connect veterans with traditional and nontraditional mental health treatment.

“There's too many veterans out there suffering from post-service issues like myself that don't know where to go for these treatment,” said Sarah Stenuf with Veteran/s Ananda. “That's why I wanted to create this facility, a one stop shop, where veterans can come and get that unified approach."

Stenuf says it's also important for loved ones to be able to recognize signs of PTSD. One of the most common signs is stepping away from social settings causing isolation and depression.
