Nibbling Squirrel Responsible For Widespread Upstate Power Outages

Authorities have named the furry perpetrator who caused over 10,000 homes to lose power last weekend- a squirrel. These critters have been a pain for energy providers as they are responsible for 9-21% of the power outages that have occurred in the last five years. The outages took place in Western New York in a Buffalo suburb. Apparently the curious rodent borrowed into a substation in Lancaster, Buffalo, and it knocked out three other substations as a consequence.

Lets have a moment of silence for our furry friend, who I can only imagine did not survive the jolt. He joins many other brave burrowers who don't quite understand electricity yet, or its consequences.
