The 12th Annual Kirkland Cyclocross Race (KCX) is this year’s New York State Bicycle Racing Association (NYSBRA) Cyclocross State Championship.
The race will be held Sunday, September 15 at the Kirkland Town Park in Clinton. There are thirty categories of races throughout the day beginning at 8:30 a.m. and finishing at 3:30 p.m.
This official USA Cycling event, sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Bicycling Club (MVBC), is part of the 2019 CNY Cup Cyclocross Series. All proceeds raised will benefit the Kirkland Town Park. In 2018, the Kirkland Cyclocross Race drew over 140 participants from neighboring states, as well as our local community. In eleven years it has raised more than $19,000 for the Kirkland Town Park to help repair and improve its facilities.
The KCX course is a short loop of challenging terrain completely in the park, making it spectator-friendly. Each section of the course offers a different view of the racers and their skills. Riders of all ages are welcome and encouraged to compete for over $300 in cash and prizes. There is also a free kids "race" for children up to 10 years old at 12:00 p.m. and the Adirondack Eatery food truck will be on site to make it a great family outing.
Registration online at BikeReg.com is highly recommended, but participants can also register on race day up to twenty minutes before their event. Join us on September 15 at the Kirkland Town Park to cheer on the racers, ring the traditional cowbells, or just watch the fun!
