Maren Morris and her husband Ryan Hurd are joining forces for a new duet called "Chasing After You," due out on February 12.
On Monday (February 8), Hurd turned to Instagram to share a photo of the cover art for the track, which features the couple gazing into each other's eyes in a dimly lit room. "Chasing After You. Friday 2/12 @marenmorris," he wrote in the caption.
A snippet of the new duet was shared on Hurd's Instagram Stories, which featured the couple's vocals over an acoustic melody alongside photo and video moments of their relationship.
"Every time you say we’re done / You come back to the love / You were running from / Don’t know why don’t know why I let you / But I do / Cause I love chasing after you," they sing in the teaser clip.
While Morris didn't specifically share any details about the new duet on her Instagram page, about a week ago, she did share a post alluding to a new project with her husband. "Making music not babies this time," she jokingly captioned a photo that shows her holding the couple's baby, Hayes Andrew while standing next to Hurd.
Morris has previously provided background vocals on Hurd's previous singles including "Every Other Memory" and "To A T," however "Chasing After You" marks the pair's first official studio duet together.
"Maren and I met writing songs and we’ve sung on each other’s records and written together, but this is the first time we’ve gotten to do an actual duet together," Hurd says. "It feels like the timing is really perfect and it’s a full circle moment to get to make music together in this way."
"Chasing After You" was co-written by Brinley Addington and Jerry Flowers and produced by Teddy Reimer and Aaron Eshuis. The new duet arrives on Friday, February 12, and fans can pre-save/pre-add the track here.
