Residents of Central New York should prepare for blustery weather as a wind advisory will be in effect today (October 31) from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow. The National Weather Service warns of gusts ranging from 40 to 50 miles per hour, which could result in fallen tree limbs and power outages.

According to WSYR-TV, the strong winds are part of a larger weather system bringing rain and possibly snow to higher elevations. The advisory affects much of Central New York, including Syracuse, where residents are advised to secure outdoor decorations and loose objects.

The Daily Voice reports that the wind is a result of a storm moving from northern New England to Quebec, with the strongest gusts expected in southeastern New York and southern New England. These conditions could persist into Saturday morning, potentially leading to scattered power outages and downed tree limbs.

For those planning to celebrate Halloween outdoors, it is advisable to stay informed of the latest weather updates and take precautions to ensure safety. The National Weather Service will continue to provide updates on their website at weather.gov.
