Yesterday, an anti-abortionist by the name of Maison Des Champs climbed the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco with no net and no safety harness. According to his website, he has the nickname "Pro Life Spiderman" and is a rock climber who recently started climbing skyscrapers to help raise money to end abortion.

Regardless of how you stand on the abortion issue, can we agree that what this guy did is just straight up dumb? The Salesforce Tower is the tallest tower in San Francisco and is the 12th tallest building in the United States. It is 1070 feet tall and has 61 stories. Even if this guy was out to make a statement, to climb such a tower with no net and no harness puts so many people in harms way. What if he lost his grip, fell, and there were people below? What about the first responders waiting at the top of the tower for him? And what about the people who potentially had an emergency and needed those first responders that were at the top of the tower because of this yahoo?

I'm not here to make a political statement. But I am here to say that regardless of which side of things you are on, find a better way to make your case than to put others in danger.

Needless to say, he was arrested at the top of the tower when his climb was over.
