A home that was featured on the hit HGTV show "Fixer Upper" was unfortunately the victim in a car crash, believed to be done by a person driving while intoxicated.
Luckily, the home owners were not injured at all. It is believed that a brick fireplace that Chip and Joanna Gaines put into the back room behind where the car crashed into stopped it from going right through.
“The yard is built up several feet, and he hit the embankment of the yard, apparently went airborne, and like a lot of older homes, this house was built up off the ground, so he cleared the rest of the yard,” Waco Assistant Fire Chief Don Yeager told the newspaper. “He didn’t hurt the hedges, but he took out the railing on the porch and went right into the window of the front room and hit an interior wall that might be a load-bearing wall.”
It was a very interesting scene. And I hope that maybe Chip and Joanna are able to work their magic to help out this family with rebuilding after what happened.
