Get Out And Do Some Bird Watching!!

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is sponsoring 2 bird challenges this summer! The bird challenges will encourage people of all ages to get out and explore the great outdoors and connect with nature. New York States's 59 Bird Conservation Areas across the state support more than 450 different bird species!

The first bird challenge is open to anyone 16 and under. Participants must locate 10 species of birds in their natural habitats. The second challenge is open to adults. Participants must find at least 10 of the 50 listed bird species found across New York State. 2018 has been named "Year of the Bird" to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

All participants who complete the challenge will receive a certificate, an "I BIRD NY" bracelet, and will be entered into a drawing for some nice birding accessories! For more information, visit
