The Corning Museum of Glass is celebrating the 150th anniversary of glassmaking in Upstate New York! And they are doing so by taking a summer-long tour of the Erie Canal. They are aboard a Barge specifically equipped with glass making materials.
The barge began its journey in late May at Brooklyn Bridge Park and has traveled north along the Hudson River through the Catskills. Two of the stops along this Erie Canal adventure include the dock wall in Sylvan Beach July 7-8 and Paper Mill Island in Baldwinsville July 13-15.
The stops will include free glassblowing demonstrations. However they do recommend signing up online ahead of time since seating is limited!
