Fourth of July Drinks

posted by Rich Lauber -

For those of us that can drink, let's admit it... we LOVE to celebrate the Fourth of July with some drinks. What makes these drinks better? They're FESTIVE!

Here are some festive recipes you can use to liven up your Fourth of July festivities this week!

*Jello shots are a fun way to spice up the holiday (and you can make some non-alcoholic for the little ones)

  • 3oz package of blue Jello
  • 3oz package of red Jello
  • 2 packets of Knox gelatin
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cups (divided) of alcohol of choice (flavored or plain vodka works well)
  • water
  • jello shot cups

Check out how to put it all together here

*A cocktail that I think wins in both the festive category and attractiveness is Red White and Blue Sangria!

Look at the beautifully shaped fruit!

You need-

  • 2 bottles dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc is good)
  • 1 cup triple sec
  • 1/2 cup berry-flavored vodka
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup (see tips below)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups hulled and sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple chunks

*If you want something a little cooler on this VERY hot July 4th:

Red, White and Blue Boozy Slushy!

Blue Slush Layer

2 cups of ice

2 oz. Blue Curacao

1 cup homemade lemonade

Blend together until smooth. Store in freezer until ready to build your cocktail.

White Slush Layer

2 cups of ice

2 oz. Smirnoff Red, White & Berry Vodka

1 cup homemade lemonade

Blend together until smooth. Store in freezer until ready to build your cocktail.

Red Slush Layer

1 ¼ cups of strawberries, quartered

2 oz. Smirnoff Red, White & Berry Vodka

¼ cup of homemade lemonade

Blend together until smooth. Store in freezer until ready to build your cocktail.

* You may need a snack with all of this alcohol... but why not put alcohol in your snack??

Who doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries??

*Try freezing some fruit in ice as well and then you can make ANY drink festive!

Use:

Sparkling water or champagne

Cranberry juice

Blueberries

Raspberries

Square and star ice cube trays

Let us know if you try these or any other favorite festive drinks!
