While you were enjoying your day of barbeques and brews, Syracuse was having the fourth hottest July 4th holiday in history. Hitting its highest in 1990, yesterday’s holiday rivaled at 81 degrees, but I think it felt much hotter. With a heat advisory still in effect, I feel like this heat may never end.
To “beat the heat”, lots of people looked to the local lakes and parks. It was a prime day for the beach or boat with family and friends, so prime that Green Lakes State Park reached full capacity! Opening at 8, the park was turning away cars by noon for a short time, but reopened later.
I guess that shows where most Central New Yorkers were for the holiday, and I can’t say I blame them. Did you go out or stay home for the 4th? Let us know!
