Turning Stone Casino, having just celebrated its 25th year in operation, is already planning for the future. With a Supreme Court ruling this summer that opened the door to legalized sports betting, Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO, Ray Halbritter, believes some sort of sports gambling will be part of Turning Stone’s future.
“It definitely is gonna be a plus for us, but also the region,” Halbritter said. At this point, Turning Stone hasn’t announced how it will handle legalized sports betting.
Like Halbritter, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente sees benefits for the area once sports gambling comes to Central New York. “More jobs, more people, more opportunity, more growth for the region,” Picente said. If that happens, it will be a big plus for Central New York.
