Sometimes it can seem that all we hear about is bad news when we turn on the local and national news. As a result, it seems like a bit of good news can get drowned out in a sea of bad news. Here one story that will bring a smile to your face!
10 year old Emerson Salsbery was concerned that there was too much trash lying around the Seneca River on Paper Mill Island. As a result, with the help of her mom, Emerson organized a trash pick up day around that area. 20 people, including students from elementary schools in Baldwinsville, showed up last Saturday to pick up trash.
“We like to fish here, hike here, we can bring our dogs, and there is a lot of garbage,” Emerson said. Well, thanks to this young lady and the other volunteers, there is a little less trash to ruin the time spent on Paper Mill Island! Well done, Emerson! We are proud of you!
