This is probably a good idea. Last month, NYS senators pushed a bill to help improve safety for children on school buses. More specifically, when they get off and on the bus.
The bill is looking to install cameras on the bus stop signs that come out when children are getting on and off. The reason for this would be to capture cars and license plates of drivers who illegally drive past the stop signs of a school bus. This is a major problem because unless a cop catches the driver on the spot, the driver gets away with it. That's horrible!
These new cameras could really help improve safety for kids, as well as easily catch the people who are blowing the stop signs on school buses. The punishment for people caught blowing these signs? A $250 dollar fine. Hopefully this bill passes for the safety of kids on buses across NYS.
