1920's "Speakeasy" Coming To Downtown Syracuse

It may not be the 1920's, but it's about to feel just like it here in Central New York. A new apartment project called the "Whitney Lofts" will not only feature 16 historically renovated apartments, but also a bar and restaurant on the first floor. This new project is located in the heart of Syracuse at 321-323 S. Salina Street and one of the newest additions announced is a speakeasy located in the basement of the building!

The speakeasy will be called The Fitz, named after jazz icon Ella Fitzgerald. Opening at 5 PM each night, The Fitz will feature unique cocktails and live music on a baby grand piano, hopefully with special guests. Also, since the new project is located across the street from The Landmark Theater, project developers hope the spot will be a great pre and post show location for show goers at The Landmark.

The project will also feature a new restaurant on the first floor named Oh My Darling and Clementine. Oh My Darling is will offer a sit down lunch and dinner experience, while Clementine will be more of a grab-and-go spot for lunch.

The speakeasy, restaurant, and apartment projects are expected to open sometime at the end of 2018. This will definitely be a cool new spot in downtown Syracuse.
