Getting to the Great New York State Fair should be easier for visitors this year thanks to the newly paved Orange Lot. Additionally, the new exit ramp to Interstate 690 West should help patrons with an extra way to leave the parking area.
Due to the renovation of the Orange Lot, State officials said that an additional 7,000 parking spaces were added to the area. This, plus the additional off-site Park-N-Ride parking lots which has been expanded to add an additional 2,000 parking spaces, should help visitors to the Fair find ample parking spots.
The cost to park at the Orange Lot will be $5 per car. Visitors can then take a shuttle bus, which will run along South Access Road, or cross the pedestrian bridge to get to the Fair’s main gate. Finally, a new parking area at the former New Venture Gear factory in East Syracuse has added an additional 1,000 parking spaces.
Want to use a ride sharing option? You are in luck this year! Ride sharing vehicles will be allowed to use the taxi drop off/pick up area this year. This area is located along the northern side of State Fair Boulevard between the Main Gate and Gate 2. So, get out to the Fair and enjoy all of what New York has to offer!
