“The Marshall,” Syracuse University’s new off-campus housing project, finally had students move into it this week, three weeks after classes started. However, some students are still waiting to move in.
The project was supposed to be completed by August 20th, but construction delays forced students to find alternate housing until the new apartments were ready. Students who have not yet been able to move will still be staying at University Village until September 28th.
While students have been unhappy with what they see is a lack of proper communications about the delays, some are still excited about their new apartments. “It’s going to be a state of the art building right in the center of campus,” said Jonah Hass, a S.U. student. “It will be a desirable location for a lot of students,” said Hass. Let’s hope the remaining students won’t have to face additional delays.
