The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is undergoing some construction right now. Anyone who has visited the zoo recently has noticed the work going on? So what exactly is “going on?” Well the zoo is currently giving the elephant exhibit a makeover!
The elephant exhibit is being expanded from four-and-a-half acres to six acres. In addition, there will be a larger gathering space for the public, four new viewing areas, and a tunnel under the expanded gathering area that will allow the elephants to walk under which will give the public better access points to see the animals.
The wildlife trail boardwalk will also be removed and replace with one that will give the public greater access to view the animals. No completion date has been announced but the renovations sound exciting and are sure to be a hit for the viewing public!
