A 5-Acre Farm Being Given Away As The Grand Prize of an Essay Competition

A 5-acre farm in Corning, owned by Tim and Maggie Lott is being sold in a non-traditional way! The two have spent the past 18 years building their family and this farm. They have decided that it is time for them to move and start a new adventure!

Instead of selling the property like any one else would, they have made the choice to give it away as the grand prize of an essay contest! Because this may seem odd, or a scam- the family is partnering with real estate attorneys to make sure the process is legal. There will be three judges who decide the winners.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 contestants.

First place winner will receive the lot AND $10,000.

Second place will receive $1,000

Third place will receive $500!

Here are the official rules:

1. Entry fee is $150.

2. The essay needs to address the following: What owning a five acre farm property would mean to me, us and/or my family.

3. Essay needs to be at least 500 words and no more than 1,000 words.

4. Deadline is July 1, 2019. Essays must be postmarked no later than June 24, 2019. The winner will be chosen on or before July 31, 2019.
