Fifteen year old Austin Michael Robinson sang a country song for his "American Idol" audition recently, then proceeded to show off his roping skills. Robinson and his family drove more than 30 hours from Texas to perform on the show. He sure made the most of it!
After performing the Josh Turner song, "Your Man," for the judges, he had to wait for Lionel Ritchie to give him the "thumbs up" before moving on to the next round. Luke Bryan passed him, but Katy Perry gave him the "thumbs down." All three judges agreed that his voice needed to mature. However, the fun part was just beginning!
Robinson returned with a lasso in hand and began showing off his skills. Bryan brought a chair out for the young singer, but then decided to go one better - Luke picked Robinson up and put him on his shoulders while Robinson lassoed Katy Perry! Bryan got nicked in the eye by the rope, but he was fine in the end. Good stuff!
