We know that listening to music is beneficial in reducing stress. Many of us listen to music while at work, mowing the lawn, or doing repairs around the house. However, a recent study has found an interesting fact: listening to music is most beneficial in relieving stress in older individuals!
Research done by Queens University Belfast showed that while music reduced stress levels in individuals in all age levels, older people received the most benefit! This was true regardless whether the person was listening to the radio or to self-chosen music.
In addition, older individuals who listened to music also showed a boost in positive emotions.
