Researchers Find Way To Transmit Information To Your Phone Via Music!

Music is such a versatile medium. It is used in commercials, movies, and television. Well researchers have found another way to utilize music: to transmit data to a smartphone! It is now possible to embed information and passwords into music so that it can be transmitted to a smartphone.

The researchers behind this technology, ETH Zurich in Switzerland, say that the changes made to the music in embedding information into the music is impossible to detect. As a result, it could soon be possible to receive information about a museum, a department store, or train schedules deliver to your smartphone via music.

The details on how the information is embedded into the music are beyond the scope of this blog, but it appears the the information is transmitted best by the dominant notes in a piece of music.
