Syracuse Head Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim appears to have gotten a head start on giving out basketball scholarships for a few years down the road. And, it appears, that one offer has gone to a rising sophomore who plays basketball for the Baldwinsville high school basketball team!
JJ Starling has been offered a scholarship to play for Boeheim after he attended Syracuse’s Elite Camp over this past weekend. Starling, a point guard for the Bees who averaged 20.7 points per game last year, performed so well that Boeheim offered him a scholarship to play at S.U. after the camp was over.
Boeheim offered the home grown Starling a scholarship in an attempt to prevent other power five foes a chance to get to him first. Starling, in a Snapchat post, said he was “beyond blessed” to receive the offer. Here’s hoping he will accept the offer and play at S.U.!
