The Christmas Dog that didn't save anything

Like most parents, especially in this half quarantined world, I'm getting hit up about a pet for Christmas. Goes from dogs to cats to chipmunks and hamsters. No, No, No...and my lease even says I can't have one. ha! (That's my fail safe, paperwork). ANYWAY, my wife recently told me about this weird secret group of Christmas shoppers at ALDIs. I know, what?? Apprentently there is a THING about going to ALDIs on Wednesdays to get great holiday decorations. again, WHAT?? So I did....but on a Monday. Yup, went the ALDIs on 92 in Dewitt near the mega Wegmans. That isle was a little more intense than expected for a Monday at 11:30am.

Found a dog for $5.99. Family didn't specify the pet needed to be alive or real. Just words Christmas and Pet. I brought "it" home and he/she wasn't met with as much excitement. My tinseled hound is now my basement partner. Elfy (I named it), simply stares at me with lonliness in its eyes as I do my airshift...Maybe I'm coming around...if you hear a weird bark on-air, you know why, kinda.
