There was a lot of talk about canceling the parade last Saturday because of it being too cold out. We were only at around 11 degrees at Noon, making it the coldest St. Patrick's Day Parade ever. Alas, that didn't stop me from going out and having quite a grand old time!
I wore my fancy green wig and feathery green scarf. I got to meet a few people including one "Redhead." She was wearing her B104.7 attire proudly! I offered to have her sit in the car with us for a little while to warm up, but she wasn't having any of that! She was excited to be there, and I'll always remember her spirit of tolerance.
And so we began. What fun it was seeing the pride of Syracuse out in full force as the weather really made it difficult to even breathe. Families, youngsters, people of all ages fought through it and showed all of us what it means to be Irish and from this great city. I could not feel my hands or toes after we walked down the final stretch, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Did I see you at all? I'd love to hear how parade day went for you!
