Academy Awards Make Changes To Avoid Future Mistakes

Ahead of the Academy of Country Music Awards for Sunday night, and to prevent another fiasco like the "Moonlight" situation at next year's Oscars, they have made some changes to ensure it will not happen again.

A third accountant will be hired to double-check each envelope. They’ll be in direct contact with the TV show’s director to make a quick correction -- if needed. The Academy voted this week to retain the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse Coopers despite their obvious flub.

Now I think this is a really good move. Any mix up, while it can be funny, is a huge nightmare for the organization, and an even huger nightmare for the people who think they've won something. Overall, it's an extra precaution just to ensure that no more mistakes happen.
