My hubby told me to be positive about my vacation experience otherwise I will sound like a loser. I will admit it had its good points but it was a bust for a major part of it. We headed off to Cape Cod last week. We were ready for a great time. On the way down we found ourselves with a broken axel on our little tow trailer. We were only as far as Fonda, NY. Lucky for us a guy and his lady helped us weary travelers out. If ever you are near there, stop buy and ask for Daniel Rickard of New Limit Motorspots. We were desperate and they helped us out. We were just asking him if he had any suggestions where to get help. Lots of places were closed as it was a long week-end. Long story short, we got an axle and he installed it and said no charge. It was crazy, but we did give him some money. We learned the value of kindness from complete strangers.
Next stop was in the middle of the night at Sweetwater Forest Campground in Cape Cod. The GPS could not find it and it was near midnight. Finally we got there and went to the assigned site. The next day was great going on a whale watch. That night when we returned, we found a note that told us to come to the office. They did not have us on record. We had moved onto the wrong campsite. We thought we had it right but that wasn't the case, so they asked us to move, which we did. It was starting to get comical.
I started get these sand flea bites and my poison Ivy was getting worse in the hot weather. To make things interesting we had one nationality of folks on one side of us who partied all night and loudly and on the other side we had a religious group who chanted all day. It just wasn't working.
We left three days early. I couldn't wait till we got home. Hubby has made the decision, no more camping for us...we can afford a motel. I agree.
