I was privileged to be a part of the incredible Syracuse University football success demonstrated in the 1980's and 90's. While I went to SU for my degree, I've always been a football fan even before the 80's. As a kid my dad would take me to the games and we'd watch every game on TV as well. When coach Mac came to the CUSE we knew right out of the gate that he was a special coach. And special he was with his beautiful personality, love of the student athletes and the game. And when it came to making an impression in the community nobody had the charm of coach Mac. He loved CNY and made it his choice of work and a place to live. He brought Syracuse Football back to prominence all the way to the national championship game against Auburn.
Coach Mac was loved in CNY and will always be remembered as a special coach, human, father, granddad and husband. We already miss your Maine accent and 'God Love Ya'
